This is pretty much what it says on the tin, it's violet! This is a very bright and lovely purple with some iridescence to it. If you are a fan of the purple and don't have this in your collection, shame on you! This is a product you need. For those who would like an eyeshadow dupe, the closest I can think is Urban Decay's Ransom deluxe eyeshadow, since they both are around the same shade, pigmentation and have a similar iridescence.
