Laura's look Book - Konad Nail Art - Turquoise & Pink Flowers

photo-67

This look is all China Glaze today. I love both of these colours, so naturally putting them together made sense :]

Products Used; China Glaze For Audrey,
China Glaze Emotion,
BM Plate 205

I love this look and the contrast of colours, the cream of the bright turquoise and the metallic shine of the deep pink. It's not the nicest floral design I have, but it is nice all the same.

Laura's Look Book - Konad Nail Art - Girly Floral

I have wanted to do a girly nail look for a while, and so I decided to do one today.

photo-64

photo-63

Products used;

China Glaze Good Witch?
China Glaze Harmony
BM plate 224

I love this look, the pink sparkly base with the purple metallic design couldn't be any girlier if it tried! I have provided a natural light picture and an artificial light picture, however it was so difficult to photograph how it looks in real life, as it doesn't show the glitter as well and it captures too much shine, and I don't think it captures how metallic the purple is. Picture difficulty aside, I hope you like it :]

Laura's Look Book - Konad Nail Art - Blue & Silver Swirls

I've not done some Konad in a while, so since I have some time off I thought I'd get to it :]

nail art look

Products used;

Calvin Klein Indigo Blue,
China Glaze Devotion,
BM plate 19

I have been dying to use a China Glaze Romantique polish for some nail art since the swatches I did in my review of the collection. I used one of my favourites from the new bunch of Calvin Klein polishes I bought as a base too, so really it was 2 birds 1 stone :] It came out OK, but the BM plate design is quite skinny, so I found it hard to cover my entire nail (and I have small nails too), so the designs are harder to use then the Konads where the design is bigger and therefore it's easier to cover the whole nail with the design. With this bm design I had to do a bit of patching up at the sides, hopefully it isn't too noticeable. Either wau I think the design is nice and I like this colour combo :]

Laura's Look Book; Pinky Goes To The Dark Side

Yes, not the most wearable pink look, so pink has gone all dark!

photo-38

Products Used;

MAC Phloof!,
MAC Da Bling,
MAC Passionate,
MAC Beauty Marked.

I love my new sigma brushes I earned off Luuux, products like passionate that were a nightmare to use normally was a lot more usable with these brushes. I also didn't need to clean up, it worked out pretty well. Hopefully this is a sign I'm getting better with the brushes and with make up :]

Inspired Looks - Pixie Polish - Peacock Nails

So, I saw this Indian Peacock look by the lovely Lyndsay of Pixie Polish, and wanted to try my own version. She is a very talented lady so it wouldn't be nearly as good as hers, but I love the look anyway. I had the Bundle Monster plate, so why not? :]

photo-48

I tried to recreate a free hand peacock feather.... and failed, it's fair to say I'm no good at art! My first time using my nail art brushes and acrylics, so I feel I can be forgiven! Here's what I tried to accomplish;

(image from allposters.co.uk)

Products Used;

Urban Decay Aquarius,
Urban Decay Hashbury,
Konad Special Polish Black,
Black, brown, blue & green acrylic,
BM plate 15.

I found the bundle monster peacock so difficult to use, it was impossible to get the whole image picked up on the stamper for some reason. I had a good bash at it anyway :]

Laura's Look Book! Bright Pixi Look

So I did this using the Bottom row of the pixi palette that I show you and review here!

pixi wake up eyes winter asos palette

I love this look! It is pretty simple, anyone can do it, and it is lovely to enjoy the last days of summer with a bright eye look! I just used the lighter greeny colour on the lid, and then brought the bluey teal into the outer corner and crease. The colours required a little layering to get the colours to the optimal pigmentation, but they are very easy to use. For £10, this palette really provides for some great looks!

Laura's Look Book! Simple Neutral

I have been away for a while, and I do apologise! Job hunting, uni applications, volunteering and work have gotten in the way. Luckily, I have been accepted to uni so that is one job ticked off the list! So I have a look and a review for you tonight, first up a neutral look I have been wearing a lot recently.

This is a really simple neutral look that anyone can do, I'm not even a lover of neutral eyes normally, but I absolutely love this colour combination!

eye look shadowy lady phloof

Products Used;

MAC Phloof!
MAC Shadowy Lady
Barry M Black Liquid Liner
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero

I used Phloof! on the lid, just until the outer corner. I used Shadowy Lady for the first time in this look, and wish I'd discovered it sooner! I used it in the outer corner and crease and blended a little but not enough to lessen the contrast between colours. I then used a 213 to apply Barry M liquid liner across the top lash line, and the 24/7 liner on the lower lash line and water line. Et Voile, a simple but lovely neutral! Hope you like it.

Review on an Asos exclusive Pixi eyeshadow palette to follow!!

Laura's look book! Sassy Streams

eye look gulf stream and sassy grass

This is a bright green and aqua look, I know I have done a fair few of greens recently, however I am trying to find the best combos, and I really like green!

Products Used;

MAC Gulf Stream
MAC Sassy Grass

I used Gulf Stream on the inner corner and lid, and then blended Sassy Grass into the outer corner and into Gulf Stream on the lid. I also used Sassy Grass along the outer half of the lower lash line, and Gulf Stream along the inner half of the lower lash line. It's very simple, very green, and the colours don't have a massive contrast. This isn't the best green look I've done, but I still like it. Some liner wouldn't have gone a miss.

Laura's look book! Pinkies!

lovely lily and fuschia eye look

I looooove my pinks and I also love my liner! So this is a look I like to wear a lot :]

Products Used;

MAC Lovely Lily
MAC Fuschia
Clinique Cream Liner.

I used Lovely Lily on the inner corner and blended it out to the lid, and I then blended Fuschia into my crease and outwards into Lovely Lily. I then applied the liner thinly on the inner lash line, gradually getting thicker as it gets towards the outer corner. I then did a chunky but quite short wing.

Hope you like it. The colours are very subtle as they are very similar, so it isn't a huge contrast, but it can really make your eyes pop.

Inspired Looks - Rebecca Loves Nails - Gradient Tiger

gradient tiger print nail art

I saw this look at the blog Rebecca Likes Nails and loved it so much I wanted to try it myself, plus I have done a couple of gradients recently and loved them! Rebecca is so talented, I love her nail looks.
.
Products Used;
.
Barry M Yellow,
Nails Inc Instyle Candy Orange,
Eyeko Punk,
Chanel Vendetta,
Konad M57 plate.
.
I love this look, and how it turned out. I was constantly told my nails were lovely, and also asked if they were stuck on or false!

Laura's look book! Green Matte

matte green eye look

This really made my blue eyes pop, and I love greens but didn't fancy a shimmery look, so I used mattes, which aren't exactly my fave.
.
Products Used;
.
MAC Sassy Grass,
MAC Plumage,
MAC Steamy,
Clinique cream liner,
Urban Decay 24/7 liner Zero.
.
MAC Steamy in the inner corner, MAC Sassy Grass on the lid, MAC Plumage on the outer corner. Clinique liner along the top lash line and Urban Decay 24/7 lower liner. This look isn't as good as I would have liked it as Plumage was a NIGHTMARE to use! Worst MAC eyeshadow ever! It doesn't go on that pigmented, it just brushes off, and the texture is awful!

Laura's look book - Nail Art - Hello Kitty Japanese Style!

Hello Kitty Japanese nail look

Around the nail is a mess as well, but I always seem to ruin it if I tidy up around it :S This didn't go as planned, but it's still OK, plus I wanted to use my new GCOCL A02 Hello Kitty plate! I am not a massive fan of 3D nails, but in this instance it seemed appropriate, especially considering I have new fimo canes!
.
Products Used;
.
Golden Rose White Varnish,
Chanel Vendetta,
Dotting tools,
Fimo Cane slices in bows, flowers, hearts & Hello Kitty faces,
GCOCL plate A02,
Pink Rhinestones.
.
A lot of pink and purple, and girlyness! I love the Hello Kitty images, and the little Hello kitty Fimo faces! My dotted paw prints need work, but I love them being in purple, I am glad I used purple over black, much more girly.

Laura's look book - Nail Art - InStyle Polishes!

Nails Inc for InStyle nail look

I used the polishes I recently reviewed that were free in InStyle magazine. This look kind of looks monster-ish, but I wanted to use my new polishes and dotting tools, which I also reviewed.
.
Products Used;
.
Nails Inc for InStyle Electric Teal,
Nails Inc for InStyle  Candy Orange.
.
This wasn't really planned as a look, more just to test out my new stuff :]

Laura's look book! Girly Galactic

Pink, purple and blue eye look

 love my pink girly looks, and so this bright and feminine number is now one of my favourites. I came up with it today by simply using some eyeshadows I hadn't used in a while, and one I hadn't used at all. I love these colours together!
.
Products Used;
.
MAC Lovely Lily,
MAC Da Bling,
MAC Stars & Rockets,
MAC Atlantic Blue.
.
I hadn't used at Atlantic Blue before, and I actually really love this, it kind of goes purple when blended with the pink, it goes really well. I am not normally into mattes, but this worked well.

Laura's look book - Nail Art - My First go at using Fimo Canes!

nail art fimo cane butterflies

Excuse the mess around the nail! I got my fimo canes today! So I decided to try them out and see how easy they are to use. I decided to do a butterfly look by sponging on grass and clouds and sticking on the butterflies in the sky. I was going to put on some flowers, but didn't want to go overboard.
.
Products Used;
.
Chanel Nouvelle Vague,
China Glaze Watermelon Rind,
Sally Hansen White French Tip,
2 butterfly Fimo Cane slices.
.
This was OK for my first attempt, the slices aren't perfect, but practice makes perfect!

Laura's look book - Nail Art - Rainbow Crackle!

nail art crackle 2

Well, this is essentially my gumball design with crackle over it. I am loving these multi-coloured designs under crackle, it gives it so much more dimension and cuteness!
.
China Glaze Jamaican Out,
China Glaze Limbo Bimbo,
Barry M Yellow,
Barry M Cyan Blue,
Barry M Spring Green,
Eyeko Lilac,
Barry M Crackle.
.
I find crackle a little too unpredictable and often it doesn't provide the look I am after due to it not being under your control. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I wish the gaps were smaller on this design.

Laura's look book - Nail Art - Gumballs!

nail art dots

I got a set of dotting tools, and so decided to give them a go. As an after thought I wish I did more different sizes in the design, but hey ho.
.
Products Used;
.
China Glaze Jamaican Out,
China Glaze Limbo Bimbo,
Barry M Yellow,
Barry M Cyan Blue,
Barry M Spring Green,
Eyeko Lilac.
.
I really like these tools, they were only £1.68 delivered, I will have to do a review on them!

Laura's look book - Nail Art - Another Rhinestone Mani!

nail art manicure rhinestones

So I got some GCOCL (Fauxnad) plates, and really wanted to use them, however I also wanted to use my new nude MAC varnish, and so resulted this look. Of course since I have rhinestones now I had to use them. I got a few people liking the flowers in my last mani, and so here are bigger and brighter flowers!
.
Products Used;
.
MAC Hangin' Loose,
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails White French Tip,
OPI Thanks So Muchness,
Silver Rhinestones,
GCOCL plate A01.
.
A little less subtle, but I love how natural the MAC shade is on my fingers, it looks better on me then the pink nudes, absolutely love this for mani's. It also has a subtle but pretty shimmer which makes it a little more interesting. Looking at the picture I really need to shape my nails, yikes!

Laura's look book - Nail Art - My first go at using rhinestones!

nail look with rhinestones 2

So I decided to jazz up my mani, and since I had just bought some rhinestones I thought I would give them a whirl. I wanted a subtle but feminine look for work.
.
Products Used;
.
China Glaze Innocence,
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails French White tip,
Chanel Vendetta,
Plate m3.
.
I used the rhinestone on top of the konad flower (Chanel Vendetta). I am not so good at manicures due to my shaky hands, but I don't find this too bad. With Seche Vite the gems stayed on no problem!

Laura's look book - Nail Art - Shattered Marble!

crackle marbled nail art

So I used crackle on top of the marble nails I just posted, and although I am not a massive crackle fan I really like this look! Maybe it's the rainbow background.
.
Products Used;
.
Barry M Bright Purple,
Barry M Yellow,
Barry M Cyan Blue,
Barry M Spring Green,
Barry M Black Crackle.
.
Yes, all Barry M Nail Paints, I am loving them at the moment, and at £2.99 a piece it would be silly not to! Hope you like this different crackle :]
