Urban Decay Sting Deluxe Eyeshadow

This is a very bright and pigmented girly colour! It is very smooth and so shimmery and pigmented that a little goes a long way. It applies effortlessly, though it does produce a bit of fall out. It is easy to blend and it stays on the lid really well.

This is a little like MACs Fuschia pigment, however I feel this goes on deeper, and I find this easier to work with (I have worked with fuschia both loose and pressed). I find that this needs less work than fuschia.

The packaging is cute, I love the image on the front, the way it is sturdy so the eyeshadow is well protected, and also the handy little mirror on the inside.

I love this eyeshadow, it is definitely one for those who like their eyeshadows bright!

Urban Decay Heat Deluxe Eyeshadow

This is a red coppery colour, that is very bright and eye-catching.

This colour is so pigmented and soft to apply, deluxe is definitely the word, as this is very good quality. The colour is rich as is the formula and texture. It appears very shimmery on the lid, and a little goes a long way.
.
The packaging is really cute, very sturdy and has a useful little mirror in it, so you can pop it in your handbag. Each deluxe eyeshadow has a different picture on the front.

I love these eyeshadows, and although the quality is great, this isn't my favourite colour from their collection though

Urban Decay Chronic

This is a light green matte glitter eyeshadow from Urban Decay. I love the colour, but the formula is awful.

This is chalky, it isn't that easy to apply and it feels so dry. I just don't like the application or the finish of it. It can look patchy and it just doesn't look that nice on. The glitter also doesn't show through that strong, which is a shame as that could soften the chalkiness.

I only paid £3 for it at the Revlon Outlet, I am so glad I didn't pay retail for this.

Urban Decay Purple Haze

This is a gorgeous purple shade that seems to have some blue iridescence to it. It is a very smooth colour which is very pigmented and easy to apply. This is one of the normal line, not a deluxe one, yet the quality is still great.

The problem I did find with this is that somehow I found it hard to get each eyelid even in colour, one eyelid kept going darker than the other, I'm not sure why, I have never had this problem before with an eyeshadow. It also didn't last as long on my lids compared to some MAC and the deluxe shadows do. However, once you even it out it is a gorgeous colour.

This really brought out my eye colour and I got a few compliments from it too. I got this for £3 at a Revlon Outlet! Can't lose!

My 3rd and final Urban Decay look today! I used the UD ❤ NYC Book of Shadows again. .

Products Used; . NYC BoS - Uzi, Rockstar, Perversion. .

This look didn't turn out completely as planned. The black from Perversion really drowned out the purple of Rockstar, so it came up just pure black with theonly colour coming from Uzi. The black of Perversion, which I used on half the lid and in the crease, is really very dark, so when blended with another colour, in this case Rockstar which was on the other half of the lid, the other colour is completely drowned out. However Uzi seemed to show up against the black a little better, I used it in the inner corner and tear duct. Not the most wearable look I've ever done, lol!

Laura's look book! Central Park

This is another look using only Urban Decay products! I used the UD ❤ NYC Book of Shadows! .

Products Used; . NYC BoS - Money, Kush, Loaded. 24/7 Liner - Mildew. .

I used Money on the inner corner and tear duct, I used Kush on the main lid, and I used loaded on the outer corner and crease. The liner Mildew really suited the eyeshadows colour, I used this on the lower lash line. I hope you like it! :]

Laura's look book! Cheshire Cat

For this look I only used Urban Decay products, the shadows are from the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows. I wanted something reminiscent of the Cheshire cat (in the original Disney animation, that I grew up with), as I am a Cheshire born and bred, and the colours are very pretty! Luckily this relevant palette had the products to do it :D .

Products Used; AiW BoS - White Rabbit, Queen, Underland. (note, not their permanent line names) 24/7 Liner - Asphyxia. .

I used White Rabbit on the inner corner of the eye and tear duct, I used Queen on the lid, and I used Underland on the outer corner and crease. The shadows were so easy to blend and apply, and I didn't need a base as the colours really popped and had really good pay off and a metallic appearance almost, and they stayed put. I am such a fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows. I also love their liners, I used Asphyxia on the lower lash line, and it gave a lovely pinky colour with purple iridescence, and it was so smooth and buttery to apply, and the colour really pops!

Urban Decay Lipstick "Train Wreck"

This is my first Urban Decay lipstick. This is a raisin purple/pink shade, which is very rich and deep in terms of pigmentation, but can be made lighter or darker as it is a buildable colour. In terms of formula it isn't dry and it is easy to apply, however it isn't very moisturising or glossy, like Benefit lipsticks and some MAC lipsticks, so it isn't full marks. It also smells a bit like liquorice, and I hate liquorice, so that puts me off it a little. In terms of packaging, although it is arty and there is a lot of detail, it is too bulky for what it needs to be, and that little dagger, no matter how cute, only really gets in the way, it doesn't really have a useful function. I have also hurt my finger on it before now as it is feels quite sharp! Overall, I would buy them again, they are an alright consistency, but the downside is the smell and the bulky packaging!

Urban Decay 50th Anniversary 24/7 Liners

Happy 15th Anniversary Urban Decay! This set includes 15 eyeliners (6 limited edition), and a pencil sharpener in a cute big box with see a through front and magnetic closure. As soon as I saw this on Temptalia I knew I had to have it! I am an eyeliner fiend and I am a massive fan of the 24/7 eyeliners. They are soft, buttery, pigmented and they stick around for a fair while! This is really good value, a set worth £150 for £60! I also got £5 using points off my Debenhams Beauty Club card, score!! This set does have a lot of browns which is a shame in terms of colour selection, however there are really gorgeous colours. I think 6 of these colours are exclusive to this set and are not sold separately. Some are more shimmery then others, and some were so soft that they were a bit crumbly, which I didn't like that much as although it is easy to apply it means you end up applying far too much and some of it breaks off which seems such a waste. They are all super pigmented! I thought zero was a deep black, until I saw perversion, coly cow is it black (it is the one in the middle of the swatch). If you like smoky eyes and blacker then black eye make up then you will LOVE perversion! A drawback is that the box absolutely stinks, not metaphorically as it is totally awesome, but literally, mine smelt like a garden centre or plant food or something, and it is a very strong smell, and it stinks out my room every time I open it. The box is pretty, it is such a shame it pongs! Overall, value for money, good quality eyeliners, lovely colours and a must have for any Urban Decay or eyeliner fan! Get it while you can it won't be around forever!

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush "Quickie"

This is a gorgeous blush. I am very hit and miss with blush, I find I can be allergic to them (especially Laura Geller ones), however this one feels soft on my skin and produces no reaction. This is a lovely light pink, especially since I am light skinned it is good that it goes on light and is buildable for those with darker skin tones. It really is a lovely colour, it gives a fresh rosy look without being too bright. The packaging is small and good for travel as it is sturdy and good quality, and it also has a mirror which could come in handy. It is a very simple design in silver, but it is still very cute. Price-wise this was very reasonable at £13! It is the cheapest high end quality blush you can get in my opinion and this is definitely one of the best colours, though they don't have a huge colour selection. Worth every penny!

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners

These liners are fantastic. For starters they are very long-wearing, I wouldn't stay waterproof, but they don't easily rub off. They apply softly and they are very pigmented, some are more shimmery then others. They come in a lot of different shades so there is bound to be one for every look you want to do. I would have preferred them if they were mechanical pencils rather then ones you have to sharpen, as it can get annoying. Also because they are so soft you end up going through pencils quite quickly, especially if you use them daily like I do, and at £11 a pop it can get a little expensive! Although they are expensive they are very good quality eyeliners, and I think they are the best kohls out

Review; Urban Decay Summer of Love "Aquarius"

This was, to me, the most eye-catching of all the kit's shades. The formula was a little disappointing since the kit was so expensive. The colour is very sheer, I needed countless applications to get this opaque, and it didn't dry all that quickly, it also dyed the skin around my nails when taking it off. The colour is nice and shimmery and a gorgeous shade, but it is easily dupable. So I would use it again, but it wasn't worth the cost!

Review; The Urban Decay Deluxe Palette

This is a super palette! The minimal but shiny packaging, is a nice touch, however the velvetty cover is bound to get dirty, but I love the silver and purple colour scheme. The colours on their own are quite expensive, however all together in the palette it makes them a lot more affordable and more travel friendly. The sponge applicators to me are pretty useless, however with the sponge applicators and the mini primer potion this will make it perfect for travel for some people since the palette is also slim and light. However I don't use the primer potion either so to me I just need the palette.

These are definitely the best of Urban Decay shadows. These are lovely unique shades and are super soft, pigmented and smooth. The colour selection is a brilliant mix, and I don't know how I went without it since now I take it on travels with me over my other palettes! I can't really think of any cons with this palette, it is a shame they don't have another palette with the remaining deluxe shadows that are not in this one!

Review; The Urban Decay Black Palette

This palette isn't what I expected. I expected black shot through with colour, however all the shadows are a little different.

Black Dog is a very pigmented matte black which is a staple for smoky eyes, and so it is good it is included in the set.

Barracuda is a black based shimmery silver. This colour is very smooth to apply and pigmented, definitely one of the best from the palette.

Jet comes through very dark purple rather then black based with purple shot through it, it also has glitter through it. It is very pigmented, but would have been nicer as a shimmer, but it will definitely add a lovely colour to a smokey eye.

Sabbath is a deep blue that reminds me a little of Deep Truth by MAC. It isn't all that black based, though it is a very dark blue. It is more shimmery then glittery and it is a beautiful shade and so soft and smooth to apply. It would definitely work for a smokey eye.

Cobra is supposed to be a black with yellow shot through, however I find it just looks brown with glitter. It wasn't what I expected and I was a little disappointed with this shade! I will try it applied wet and hope it applies better, but so far applying it dry by dabbing rather then swiping hasn't worked to get the effect I want.

Libertine is supposed to be black shot through with green, however to me it just looks like a glittery black, the green doesn't show through, even when I dab it on rather then swipe. Like Cobra I will try applying it wet and hope the colour comes through. I was disappointed with this shade applied with a brush.

Review; Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows vol.III Radium

Urban Decay Radium ((Limited Edition NYC BoS shade!)



This is a dark blue shade, very pretty in the pan, however needs a few applications for it to reach the colour in the pan on your lids. For this I'd advise a base such as a MAC paintpot or something that the colour can grip onto and have a neutral base for the colour to pop. It isn't an incredibly unique shade, and I did experience a lot of fall out because the eyeshadow is so soft, however once you get it to it's full pigmentation it is a lovely blue eyeshadow. It looks more like MAC Freshwater in the pan however goes on more like a shade between Freshwater and MAC Deep Truth, it's too dark for Freshwater but too light to be Deep Truth.

Review; Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows vol.III Snatch

Urban Decay Snatch (limited edition shade, also available in Show Pony Palette).



I wanted to love this colour, and I thought I would. On my skin tone this peachy colour (in natural light) is virtually nude on my skin tone, it took a few of applications of the shadow to get it to show up. The fall out was insane, I ended up with chunky gold glitter all over my face, which wasn't a look I was going for! In the pan it is very very crumbly which may explain the mass of fall out, it just breaks up and goes everywhere. I have provided a picture of what happens when you wipe your brush across it to apply the shadow down below. Even though there are massive chunks of glitter that end up all over your face, it doesn't really show up on your eyelids to add to it in anyway. I doubt I'd use this colour again.

The name to me is also another problem, maybe it's just me, but in my area of the UK a "snatch" is a rude word for a vagina, and I just can't get past that! If you have ever seen The Inbetweeners that term will have been thrown around by the horny teenage boy Jay. Not the most pleasant name for an eyeshadow! And for those who think "Get out of town, that isn't true!" unfortunately it is.

This was after I had swiped the eyeshadow with my brush, the powder went everywhere!

Review; Urban Decay Naked Palette

Urban Decay Naked palette



I don't normally wear neutrals, but since work has a "minimal or subtle" make-up rule now I have started to dabble, as normally I like brighter colours. This palette I absolutely fanatastic, I don't even know where to start. I suppose the bottom line is that it has made the Too Faced Natural eye kit & Too Faced Smoky eye kit obsolete. This one palette can do both neutral and smoky so it is less bulk to carry, and I find that the quality of these shadows are a little better quality. I also like how there are a mix of neutral colours, some more pink, gold, bronze or just pure brown-y colours, so you can do many different neutral looks. There are also the black and silver for smoky eyes.

I had a few complaints with the NYC BoS III (although in general I liked it) due to lack of textures, the bulky box and the OTT packaging (though I do love the artistry of the pop up, just not the LEDs bulking it out.) This naked palette eradicates all of these complaints. It has a mix of textures, matte, some with minimal shimmer, ones that are a bit more shimmery, no matter what texture you prefer there will be something there for you. It is a much more sleek box, yet it only has 4 fewer colours, although in saying that the 12 colours it has are bigger in quantity. It still has the mirror, and the two 24/7 eyeliners still, so it hasn't really compromised on the content to get slimmed down! It is a very simple but well packaged palette, which is a lot more suitable for travel then the BoS' that they produce. The drawback of this palette, which is both a pro & a con is the velvety feel of the box. Yes it is lovely and soft, and when it is in the purple velvety mould it just oozes luxury (especially with the gold lettering). However at the same time it is just asking to get dirty with foundation and eyeshadow, and it would be hella difficult to get it out! Also at the end of the day all these palettes are cardboard and paper, so they will be bound to get a little dog-eared.

This also has the same benefit as the BoS III as it also has exclusive limited edition colours in the palette, which in this case are Virgin, Buck, Darkhorse and two others which I forgot, so I apologise!

If you are more interested in shaking up a smoky eye then keeping it neutral, you may be glad to see the new palette they are bringing out, it's called the black palette, take a look!

I know I will be getting my mitts on it when it arrives in the UK!

Review; Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows vol.III Psychedelic Sister

Psychedelic Sister (Sephora exclusive)



This is a gorgeous purple, I can imagine I will wear it a lot. A very soft and pigmented purple that can be blended out to which it becomes a lovely pink (I tried to display that on my outer corner in the pic below, but it didn't really work so well). This will suit any eye colour and skin tone in my opinion. Easily applied and blended, it is a very good quality shadow and a must for the lovers of purple. It looks a little lilac-y in the picture, but it is closer to the colour in the pan then it is lilac, I think that's just the flash making it looking a little lighter.

With ransom 24/7 liner on the lower lashline (the more blue based purple)

Review; Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows vol.III Kush

Kush (Limited Edition NYC BoS shade)



This is a lovely bright shade of green, it is predominantly shimmer however it does have the odd speck of glitter. There was a lot of fallout with this, if I didn't put a cotton pad under my eye when I applied it my face would have been a glittery green mess. It is a lovely colour, and it applied nicely, but it is quite a messy one!

Review; Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows vol.III Rockstar

Rockstar (Limited Edition NYC BoS shade!)

This is a blackened plum colour, a very dark red based purple. I didn't expect to like this much as it wouldn't normally be a colour I'd jump for, but after trying it I really like it, because it is such a warm colour it really brought out the blue in my eyes, and the colour is so rich it was really nice to wear! I'd say the purple in this black-ish colour is more obvious and dominant over the black, unlike Loaded which looked more green dominated in the pan but turned out more black with a little flash of green. I like the colour to be dominant and for the black just to be the undertone and so this colour suits me a lot better! The consistency is the nice smooth and pigmented one that I tend to blab about with urban decay.
